
Leona Louise Lewis, born 3 April 1985. She is an actor an activist, singer and actress of British origin. Born and raised in Islington, a part of the London Borough of Islington, she went to The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis received national recognition when she was awarded the third season of The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1,000,000 with Syco music. The winning single, which was an original cover to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This", peaked at #1 for four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke records in the world by achieving 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. Clive Davis's label, J Records, signed Lewis to a 5-album deal in February 2007. Lewis's success continued with the launch of her first Studio album Spirit (2007), which was certified platinum at 10x in the UK and became the fourth-highest-selling album of the 2000s and one of the most popular albums sold in UK chart history. It is reported by the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the top-selling album of the 21st century. album by a female debut. Its top-selling single in the United Kingdom, Bleeding Love, remained at no. #1 for seven weeks and then became the most popular single in 2007, as per the Official Charts Corporation. The song was among the best-selling during 2008, as well. Lewis received the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. Echo is her second studio album. The album also featured the track "I I See You" on behalf of Avatar. Lewis' single "Collide" has been an impromptu collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she also released Hurt The EP, her debut extended performance. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), brought a brand new direction to her music for Lewis taking on dubstep and electronic music. The Glassheart Tour was in the beginning of 2013 when she started recording material to make her first Christmas album. The Christmas album, with Love was released late in 2013. Its lead single, One More Sleep, reached the top spot within the UK. Lewis was one of the few British female solo artist was the first female artist to reach the top five with eight singles. This is more than Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
